Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sipply (“Sipply,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Sipply mobile app, our website at sipplyapp.com, and related services (together, the “Services”).
By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. Capitalized terms like SippSpots (participating venues), Sippsters (members), PourPass (membership), and “cheers” (ratings) are described on our homepage and in our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are & how to contact us
Sipply is a membership platform that helps members discover participating bars and restaurants, check in, and unlock food and drink discounts. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at support@sipplyapp.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information — when you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
- Profile & membership — your membership tier (PourPass, PourPass Light, or PourPass+), preferences, and saved favorite venues.
- Check-ins & activity — when you check in at a SippSpot to unlock a deal, we record the venue, date, and time of the check-in.
- “Cheers” (ratings & reviews) — ratings and any review content you submit. You can only leave a “cheers” after a verified check-in.
- Launch & marketing sign-ups — if you join our launch list on the website, we collect your email address and the date you signed up.
- Inquiries & support — if you contact us, become a SippSpot, or email us, we collect the information you choose to share (such as your name, email, business details, and message).
Information we collect automatically
- Device & app data — device type, operating system, app version, language, and similar technical details.
- Usage & log data — how you interact with the Services, features used, and diagnostic or crash information that helps us keep the app reliable.
- Approximate & precise location — see the dedicated section below.
Our website uses privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics that do not use advertising cookies or build individual advertising profiles. The app may store data on your device (such as a secure sign-in token) so you stay logged in.
Location information
A core feature of Sipply is showing SippSpots near you on a map and enabling check-ins. With your permission, we use your device’s location to power location-based discovery and to confirm check-ins at participating venues. You can enable or disable location access at any time in your device settings; disabling it may limit map and check-in features.
Subscription & payment information
Paid memberships (PourPass and PourPass+) are processed through the applicable app store or payment processor. We do not collect or store your full payment card number. We may receive limited transaction information (such as subscription status and renewal dates) needed to provide your membership.
3. How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including discovery, check-ins, deals, and memberships.
- Verify check-ins so that deals and “cheers” are genuine, and prevent fake or fraudulent activity.
- Show you nearby SippSpots and relevant offers based on your location.
- Process your membership and manage your account.
- Communicate with you about the Services, including launch notifications, updates, and support.
- Understand and improve the Services, and develop new features.
- Protect the safety, security, and integrity of the Services and comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- Participating venues (SippSpots) — when you check in or redeem a deal at a venue, the venue may receive limited information needed to honor the offer and understand redemptions (such as that a valid member checked in). Venues are independent businesses responsible for their own use of any information they receive.
- Service providers — we use trusted vendors to run the Services (for example, cloud hosting, database, authentication, and analytics providers). They may process information on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
- Legal & safety — we may disclose information to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Sipply, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — if Sipply is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- With your consent — we share information for any other purpose with your permission.
5. Third-party services
The Services rely on third parties that have their own privacy practices, including our backend and authentication provider (Supabase), our website hosting and analytics provider (Vercel), and the app stores through which the app is distributed (such as Apple). We encourage you to review those providers’ privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of venues or other third parties you interact with.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and afterward only as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
7. Your choices & rights
Access, correction, and deletion
You may access or update much of your account information directly in the app. You can also request a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing support@sipplyapp.com.
Deleting your account
You can delete your Sipply account and associated personal information at any time from within the app (Profile → Account → Delete Account), or by emailing support@sipplyapp.com. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we are required or permitted by law to retain it.
Communications
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us. We may still send you non-promotional messages about your account or the Services.
Location & notifications
You control location access and push notifications through your device settings and can change them at any time.
8. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion or correction; and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@sipplyapp.com.
9. Age requirement & children’s privacy
Sipply relates to venues that serve alcohol and is intended for adults of legal drinking age (21+ in the United States). The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International users
Sipply is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
